The Deutsche Schule Athen was founded in 1896. In 2021 the school could realize the first part of the renovation of its outdoor spaces, namely the sports facilities. Mrs Mirto Matala and Katerina Daskalaki were the lead architects that have transformed the old sport facilities into a unique multi-sport professional area, with the assistance of plethron Construction company.
The selection of the urban furniture needed to cover micro-waste disposal requirements was based on high-quality materials, as well as sustainability. The Spencer CP, designed by Alfredo Tasca and produced by Metalco, has met the needs.
The Spencer CP is produced by Metalco, one of the world’s leading companies in manufacturing solutions and products for urban spaces and city projects. Unique design, top-level material selection and production processes, as well as low-maintenance requirements characterize the products of Metalco. The company uses 100% sustainable, certified energy for the production, as more than 7,500 solar panels have been installed on the roofs of the production plants. Thanks to these solar panels, Metalco prevents every year the emission in the atmosphere of approcimate 850 tones of CO2, and avoids to burn approximately 340 tons of oil equivalent.
